Coronavirus update...

We have adjusted our programs to ensure that all participants are safe and healthy. Our programs that are on-going are meeting virtually in most cases and in-person in others. Those that do not meet during the summer but resume in the fall will do so accordingly as it relates to government guidelines and what will best accommodate the safety of all. You can check with each program/director directly to see what that will consist of. In the interim, if you have to come to the building you must wear a mask, and asked to maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet. Please continue to make smart choices and be safe.

The James E. Wadsworth, Jr. Community Center (JEWJCC) is a

Not-for-Profit 501(c)(3), community-based organization of Fellowship Chapel. It was established to serve as the community outreach arm of the church with various programming and services that aim to enhance the quality of life for the surrounding community.

It is named after the founding pastor of Fellowship Chapel and was established in 1987 by Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony. First Lady MG Anthony is the Director. We provide programs for the entire community from tutoring and rites of passage mentoring to sewing, health classes and Wadsworth Center Toastmasters.

We welcome the community to come and participate in our programs.

In addition to our on-going programming we do Special Events as well such as "Coffee with a Counselor" addressing mental health awareness; "Financial Literacy Series" with a range of topics from credit repair to home buying. We also partner with the Wayne County Community College District offering a variety of programming for youth and adults.

Lady Monica G Anthony

First Lady Anthony has been the director for the last decade. Under her leadership she established the GMR/EMB Health and Fitness center, added the Wadsworth Toastmasters, Playing Your Hand, Wadsworth Tutoring, Community Quilters and other programming. She continues to maintain the quality of excellence known in the signature programs like the Isuthu and Intonjane Training Institutes. She loves working with, and for, the people. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6.

Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony

Following the passing of the founding pastor of Fellowship Chapel, Rev. Anthony, decided to establish the James Edward Wadsworth, Jr. Community Center (JEWJCC) in honor of his mentor. Pastor Jim, as he was affectionately known, had a love and passion for the City of Detroit and the people of God. The JEWJCC, since its inception in 1987, has been serving the people with a genuine love and passion for the betterment of their lives.
